the video is taken from FOX NEWS WITH SHEP SMITH--the only person at FOX that i actually like because he still remembers what its like to be just a human being and not a right wing or left wing nut. the correspondent on the ground becomes so emotional that Shep has to finish the piece--IT IS MOVING
i am again watching as much television coverage via CNN, PBS, MSNBC and various blogs, etc and still have not seen any type of "governmental" officials involved in the saving of lives in this dirt poor country.
it almost seems as though the United states "IS" the government of this Island and it might well turn out to be so. i am trying to fathom how and why the leaders of Haiti have not shown their face, have not lent a hand, have not mobilized their forces to help. i am dumbstruck by the absence of any officials. where are they? have they all been killed in a collapsed building? have they all fled to the surrounding areas for safety? have they fled with their families to near by countries?
i remember the quakes that struck Mexico city, that struck in china, the tsunamis thru out Asia--in all of these areas, once the tragedy struck, the actual governments quickly went into recovery mode. the only exception was in the country of Burma because the murderous regime found it better to let the population starve and die.
i am very proud of what President Obama has said and how he has mobilized this great nation of ours so quickly, sadly it was not the case during hurricane Katrina.
